Physical Book in Print + Foundry Module Almost Here!

We are here with some exciting developments!
The Book! THE BOOK!
Hey everyone, last month we celebrated Book of Spirits’ digital release. Yesterday we received the first proof of the physical book.
Aviad can barely contain his excitement
With 276 pages, the book is downright HEFTY. We’re certain you’re going to enjoy all of our hard work over the past couple of years when you put your hands on it.
When will we get it?
I know, I’m excited too! The current estimate for prints being completed is the first week of May. Afterwards everything will be transported to our fulfillment centers around the globe, a journey which may take up to two months (world politics permitting). Once the shipment arrives at our fulfillment centers, it’ll be about a month before it’s sent to you. To summarize, we’re currently looking at August 2026 fulfillment.
Where is the Digital PDF?
If you did not receive the Book of Spirits PDF yet, please contact us here on Kickstarter so we can fix it. If you already got it and love it as much as we do, please help us by leaving a review on DTRPG.
Book of Spirits Soon on Foundry
The much anticipated Foundry module is complete, and is currently being tested by our studio. It will take us a week or two to get fully acquainted with the module, fix glaring bugs, and upload it to the official Foundry marketplace, at which point you will receive your license key and a link to your download. We will keep you posted when it’s ready for you!

Mist Hikers, we’re thrilled to finally share the Book of Spirits PDF with you.
We’d like to thank you once more for being patient while we polished the book. Your confidence is a privilege, and we are proud of how the book turned out. We believe you will like it too.
The PDF is in Your Email
Just like the previous digital rewards, an email has already been sent to your email address with a link to add the book to your DriveThruRPG library. If you didn’t receive the email, please reach out to us and we will amend it manually.
Community Feedback
We can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the book. Please join our Discord community server to tell us all about your spirit-bound game plans!
We did our best to eliminate errors, but there’s always a chance they’ve cast Invisibility to avoid our scrutiny. If you encounter them, please share them with us so we can remedy them before they are eternalized in ink.
Physical Production: Ongoing
We’ve already approved samples for the GM screen, Mist Hiker notes, art prints, miniatures, and dice. We’re currently trying to remedy some color issues with the printed encounter maps (dry-erasable lamination changed the colors unexpectedly), and we still need to get the sample of the book printed and delivered to us for inspection.
We expect printing to be completed by Mid-April. From there, it will be shipped overseas to fulfillment centers, which will then deliver it directly to you. We will keep you posted on the progress of the production on our monthly updates!
A New Age is Coming
Book of Spirits started with a question: what if our emotions had magical power? The answer created the Everlast, a new realm of existence which fits snugly into any 5E setting. That was the purpose. But as we developed this concept further, more questions surfaced. How does a world that has spirits everywhere actually look like and behave?

PDF Celebration Stream
Now that it’s finally ready, we’d like to celebrate with the people who made it possible, and by that we mean you, mist hikers, and the Beyond the Screen team!

A new year is here and fulfillment is inching ever closer.
Addresses Locking Soon!
Now is your last chance to change the address for your physical rewards. On January 23rd all addresses will be locked.
To verify we have your correct address, please log into your BackerKit survey. If you can’t find it in your email, you can reclaim it through this link using your email address.
Note that the BackerKit website survey will not let you change your country or state, if you need to adjust any of those, please contact us through the Kickstarter or BackerKit messages.
It’s Printing!
Some of the components you pledged to are being printed (or cast) as we speak, including the miniatures and dice. We’re also about to receive prototypes of the GM Screen, Mist Hiker Notes, Map Pack, and more.
They are even prettier in person!
We expect to ship everything to our fulfillment centers in April. From there, they will be sent directly to you. Hang on tight for more updates on fulfillment.
PDF Layout Status
Tomorrow we’re getting the final proofing notes for the book, and after we address the comments, the book will be ready for your eyes.
We can’t wait for you to read the whole thing!

Foundry VTT Module in Development
We are excited to share the first glimpse of the Foundry module!
Resonance System Interactions on Foundry
The Resonance system means spirits get access to new powers when they’re Kindled and vulnerabilities or constraints when they’re Stifled. Our Foundry dev is really making the most of the VTT, which means different “states” alter what you see in the creature’s stat block. We think this makes for a much cleaner user experience.
Aren’t they great? Some creatures and NPC tokens you’ll find in the module.
Book Layout Update
Just yesterday we approved the pre-clean draft of the PDF, which totals a whopping 276 pages. The pre-clean draft is a big milestone towards the final PDF. Now our proofreaders can step in to find any errors that have crept in during the layout. Meanwhile, our graphic designer will start polishing each spread, turning it into real eye candy.

Hey Mist Hikers, we’re here with another update :)
Plain Text PDF is in your email!
Each eligible backer who completed the survey on BackerKit was just sent an email from DriveThruRPG titled “Free Titles from Beyond The Screen”. You can download your copy of the Plain Text PDF thorugh that email! Note that it may be in a spam folder or in another tab. If you don’t have a DTRPG account already, you will be prompted to create. Once you add these items into your cart (does not require payment!), the download will remain on the website indefinitely, so you can login and get it whenever you like.
Aside from the PDF of the Plain Text version, anyone eligible to receive the OST also received it in a seperate email (this includes backers on the Game-Ready tier or higher, plus anyone who added it as an add-on).
If you are eligible for these rewards and did not get an email, please reach out to us through Kickstarter messages. Note that it may take us a few days to get back to you.
In the next couple of weeks, we will be performing the digital fulfillment for the Map Pack, and the Mist Hiker Field Notes using the same method, so stay tuned for those!

What about the Full PDF?
The full PDF remains in the layout stage. There’s considerable progress being made, and we are close to a pre-clean draft, meaning that all of the content of the book is where it should be, but the art and graphic design requires touch-ups. Once we have that draft, we will begin our final pass of proofreading parallel to the graphic touch-ups.
This work should fit within a month’s time, but those estimates have surprised us before. The best we can do is keep you posted about the state of the work and its progress in our monthly updates here on Kickstarter. We’re here with you and want you all to see the book in its glorious evolu– final form.
